Tideswell Food Festival

The next Tideswell Food Festival
and Makers’ Market will be on
Saturday, 13th May 2023, 10am to 4pm

Tideswell’s Food Festival is an established fixture on the Food Festival trail.
Organised and run by a group of village volunteers with any surplus distributed as grants to local causes.
Over £10,000 has been donated for local causes and projects to date.

Tideswell is working actively to reduce its carbon footprint and to run events more sustainably.
Traders are encouraged to use recyclable packaging and receptacles.
Derbyshire Dales District Council is working hard to ensure as much as possible is recycled.

Our first Food Festival, in May 2011, had about twenty stalls in the churchyard of St. Johns church.
After a very damp start the rain retreated and over two thousand visitors and locals enjoyed the foody delights and entertainment.

From these modest (and soggy) beginnings we have grown to be a festival of over sixty food traders.

You can look back at last year’s festival here and look forward to this year here.

The Tideswell Makers’ Market, featuring the talents of local crafts people and makers, was established in 2017 and this now takes place on the same day as the Food Festival in and around St John The Baptist Church.
You can see more about the market here.

A happy mixture of musicians and entertainers add something very special to Tideswell Food Festival each year. Firm favourites include the wonderful Tideswell Brass Band, local mixed choir Tideswell Singers, and folk trio The Bailey Sisters.
Each year we add others to suit a variety of tastes, such as DaleDiva and Meat Free Music who came for the first time in 2021. The lively Appellation Dancers from Bakewell often dance for us, beautifully accompanied by The Well Heeled Band who pop up to play and sing round the village stalls as well.
We are always on the look out for other local entertainers who might join in and hope to include some food themed storytelling another year.

Sampling delicious food or sipping a refreshing drink in the sunshine while you listen to live music and soak up  the festival atmosphere, all part of the joy of Tideswell’s Food festival.

Free Car Parking for the Food Festival will be available at the North East side of the village in a field off Whitecross Road.

An approximate postcode is SK17 8PY
