Tideswell celebrates food from local to global at the sixth annual Tideswell Food Festival

ffflier2016 FoodFest 2016On Saturday 30 April 2016, between 10 am and 4 pm, Tideswell welcomes a wide variety of food stallholders to celebrate local, national and international cuisine for the sixth annual Tideswell Food Festival. In the streets of this beautiful Peak District village, there will be around 60 different stalls showcasing artisan food and drink from Derbyshire and beyond, with hot and cold treats from food cultures as near as the Peak District and as far as Borneo, Laos and Russia to enjoy on the day. And there will be plenty of lovely things to take home from bread to brownies, coffee to cakes, and pies to pastries. Local shops, cafes and pubs will be open for business, and there will be a chance to explore the Parish Church (our very own Cathedral of the Peak), and sample local people’s favourite recipes in Nibbles in the Nave.

But it’s about more than just food. There will be family entertainment including Tideswell Band and Tideswell Singers, folk from the Bailey Sisters, and acapella all-female barbershop singing from the quartet Incognito. You can meet local artists and buy their creations at Crafts in the Chancel, in the Parish Church, and visit Tideswell Kitchen Garden to find out more about growing food, buy plants, take part in a tool swap, or take a tour.

There will be free parking, including some disabled parking with flat access, and maps with details of stalls and events will be available on the day.
