ABOUT US

Tideswell Food Festival

Our Story

Tideswell’s Food Festival is an established fixture on the Food Festival trail. Organised and run by a group of village volunteers in Tideswell, with any surplus distributed as grants to local causes. Over £10,000 has been donated for local causes and projects to date. Places such as Tideswell and Hope Valley Community First Responders and Community Managed Library.

Our first Food Festival, in May 2011, had about twenty stalls in the churchyard of St. Johns church. After a very damp start the rain retreated and over two thousand visitors and locals enjoyed the foody delights and entertainment.

Who are we?

The Tideswell Makers’ Market, featuring the talents of local crafts people and makers, was established in 2017 and this now takes place on the same day as the Food Festival in and around St John The Baptist Church.

A happy mixture of musicians and entertainers add something very special to Tideswell Food Festival each year. Firm favourites include the wonderful Tideswell Brass Band, local mixed choir Tideswell Singers, and folk trio The Bailey Sisters.
Each year we add others to suit a variety of tastes, such as DaleDiva and Meat Free Music who came for the first time in 2021. The lively Appellation Dancers from Bakewell often dance for us, beautifully accompanied by The Well Heeled Band who pop up to play and sing round the village stalls as well.
We are always on the look out for other local entertainers who might join in and hope to include some food themed storytelling another year…

Sampling delicious food or sipping a refreshing drink in the sunshine while you listen to live music and soak up the festival atmosphere, all part of the joy of Tideswell’s Food festival.
