There will be a variety of activities on offer in the Tideswell Kitchen Garden at the 2016 Tideswell Food Festival on 30 April, including a quiz and prize draw, seed planting, a plant sale, tool recycling, and music from Tideswell Singers.
The volunteer Kitchen Gardeners are available to give you a tour, and you can do some gardening too if it takes your fancy!
Tideswell Kitchen Garden was established as part of the Taste Tideswell project, launched when the village was awarded BBC Village SOS funding. The Garden is run by a group of volunteers under the ‘Friends of Taste Tideswell’ label, supported by a Derbyshire Dales community grant.
The Garden is an open access space for all local people, and supplies Tideswell’s Wednesday Lunch Club with vegetables, fruit and herbs for the dishes it serves each fortnight. All volunteers are free to help themselves to produce grown in the garden, and monthly meet-ups are held at 10 am on the first Saturday of each month, to supplement time spent in the garden individually/in smaller groups.
